- Citrix Storefront Add App
- Citrix Storefront Receiver Download
- Citrix Storefront Apps Not Opening
- Citrix Storefront Apps Not Launching
In this step-by-step guide I will describe how you can directy start an Application on StoreFront. Normally a desktop will auto-launch when you only have 1 desktop so why would you want to auto-launch an application on StoreFront? If you are using StoreFront 3.0 and you add a XenApp 6.5 Data Collector to your store it will see your XenApp 6.5 desktop as an Application on StoreFront and not as a desktop. In this case you would like to start an application if you want your older XenApp 6.5 desktop to start. I have tested this on StoreFront 3.0 with XenApp 6.5 Data Collectors.

How-to directly start an Application on StoreFront 3.0
Citrix Storefront Add App
Start Notepad on the StoreFront server as an administrator. Navigate in Notepad to C:inetpubwwwrootCitrixYourAppStoreWebcustom and open script.js.
Probably everything is marked out. You can remove this or paste the following at the bottom:
var numApps;
CTXS.Extensions.preProcessAppData = function (store, json) {
numApps = json.resources.length;
};
Citrix Storefront Receiver Download
CTXS.Extensions.noteApp = function (app) {
if (numApps 1) {
CTXS.ExtensionAPI.launch(app);
}
};
Save the file. Run the Command Prompt as an administrator. Enter iisreset and hit Enter.
After you log on to StoreFront and you only have 1 application it will auto-start for you.
Solution
Citrix Storefront Apps Not Launching
NOTE: If multiple Storefront servers are in a group, first attempt the change below on only one Storefront server.If only one Storefront server is in a group, please ensure a valid backup exists before proceeding.
- On Storefront server, place desired Workspace App installer in: C:Program FilesCitrixReceiver StorefrontReceiver ClientsWindows
- Then, navigate to C:inetpubwwwrootCitrix<Store>Webweb.config
- Search for 'pluginassistant'
- Edit path to reflect the installer placed in C:Program FilesCitrixReceiver StorefrontReceiver ClientsWindows
- Reset IIS
- Test by navigating to altered Storefront server directly.
- If expected results are seen, propagate changes to remaining servers in the server group.
Problem Cause
Storefront defaults the installer to the most recent package available on the web.
